How the App Works

Acutis Firewall uses Android's VPN Service API to create a local VPN tunnel on your device. This allows the app to:

Important: All filtering happens entirely on your device. No DNS queries, browsing data, or personal information is sent to our servers because we do not operate any servers.

Third-Party Services

The app forwards allowed DNS queries to Cloudflare's public DNS service (1.1.1.1). Cloudflare's privacy policy applies to DNS resolution. We chose Cloudflare for their commitment to privacy - they do not sell DNS data and purge logs within 24 hours.

The app downloads blocklists from the following open-source projects:

These downloads only retrieve domain lists and do not transmit any personal information.

VPN Permission

The app requires VPN permission to function. This permission is used solely to filter DNS queries locally. The app does NOT:

Your Rights

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. All app data is stored locally on your device and can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's data in Android Settings.
